The Rencontres in previous years
Since its foundation, the Rencontres Musicales de Vézelay Festival has been constructed each year around a central theme, presented in music by illustrious ensembles, always including Arsys Bourgogne,  conducted by Pierre Cao.

10 years of meetings in Vézelay
Handel : Warlike and amourous Passions
20th to 23rd August 2009

These will be four exceptional days celebrating the splendours and brilliance of choral tones
and a double tribute will be rendered to:

1) Handel, whose greats works are, this year, being celebrated the world over. Three extraordinary oratorios will resound under the vaults of the Saint-Marie Madeleine Basilica : the splendid and youthful Resurrezione, the moving Theodora and the virtuoso Israel in Egypt.

2) the Arsys Bourgogne choir
, that its founder and conductor, Pierre Cao, has hoisted to be amongst the best European ensembles in less than 10 years.
Come to find the vocal quintessence of the invited artists and ensembles, coming from London, Seville, Prague, Cologne and elsewhere.

Musics in the courts
and chapels of Europe

21st to 24th August 2008

4 days of pure delight with 3 concerts per day, excellence to be found equally in the programme proposed as in the Arsys Bourgogne choir itself, present for the final concert, which in few years, has climbed to the firmament of choirs world-wide. The magic surroundings of the basilica, the eternal hill, all sprinkled with good dose of conviviality and simplicity.
