Biography

Olga Pasichnyk
Soprano


born in Ukraine. She studied piano and musical pedagogy in native Rivne, voice at the Kiev Conservatory and at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw In 1992 she became a soloist of the Warsaw Chamber Opera.

She sang major roles in operas of Monteverdi, Händel, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, contemporary composers all around Europe, in the USA, Canada, Japan and Australia. Olga Pasichnyk performed at in the famous concert venues, incl. Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Salle Pleyel (Paris), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Berliner Konzerthaus, Palais des Beaux-Arts, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie (Brussels), de Singel (Antwerp), De Doelen (Rotterdam) Finnish National Opera, Flemish Opera, Polish National Opera, Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg and since 1995 at the Bavarian State Opera. In June 2005 she sang the opening concert of the new Concert-Hall Josephine-Charlotte in Luxemburg (programm: world creation of K. Pendercki’s 8th  symphony.

Olga Pasichnyk has collaborated with Belgian and Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra, RTVE (Spain), Polish National Radio Orchestra, with orchestras Sinfonia Varsovia (Poland), of Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Florence), Orchestre Colonne (Paris), Das Neue Orchester (Cologne), the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders, La Grande Ecurie et La Chambre du Roy (France), The English Concert, European Union Baroque Orchestra, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Concerto Köln, Academy of Ancient Music, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, l’Orchestre de Radio France. Olga Pasichnyk gave several concerts with the Collegium Vocale Ghent a.o. Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, led by Philippe Herreweghe.

She performed with conductors such as P. Goodman, A. Parrot, K. Penderecki, T. Pinnock, M. Soustrot, A. Boreyko, C. Spering, M. Viotti, A. Wit, M. Creed, M. Zanetti, A. De Marchi, C. Poppen, K. Ono, D. Callegari, A. Spering, H. Bicket, B. Tovey, Ivor Bolton, M. Soustrot, René Jacobs, Heinz Holliger, Enrique Mazzola and Marc Minkowski.

Making herself a name as a great interpreter of Haendels music, Olga sang at several occasions “Almirena” (Rinaldo), “Dalinda” (Ariodante), “Dorinda” (Orlando) at Flemish Opera and at Bavarian State Opera. And, upcoming Haendel roles include “Morgana” (Alcina) at Palais Garnier/Paris, “Bellezza” (Il Trionfo) at Pleyel (led by Marc Minkowski) and “Semele” at the Operahouse of Essen.

In 2005 she created “Medusa/Natalia” in “MEDUSA” an opera by the contemporary Italian composer Arnaldo De Felice  produced by Bavarian State Opera.

Olga Pasichnyk is the Prizewinner of the International Vocal Competition in ‘s Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands, 1994 - II prize), Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in Helsinki (Finland, 1999 - II prize) and The Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition (Belgium, 2000 - III prize, Special Oratorio Prize and Public Prize).

She recorded more than 30 CDs for different labels incl. NAXOS, OPUS 111 & MDG. Recent releases include :  Lieder by Duparc, Debussy and Poulenc together with pianist Ewa Poblocka followed by tributes to Mendelssohn’s and  Sibelius’s Lieder togeher with her sister Natalya Pasichnyk.
